- Hilti EcoVadis Rating 2023
HILTI RECOGNIZED FOR BEST-IN-CLASS GREENHOUSE GAS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Schaan (FL), August 24, 2023 – Hilti has received EcoVadis’ gold rating for the third time in a row. The company was also recognized for its commitment to reducing its CO2 emissions.
In this year's EcoVadis assessment, Hilti has achieved a gold rating in the third consecutive year. Furthermore, the sustainability rating agency has acknowledged Hilti as a "Leader in Carbon Management” and as a “company with a best-in-class greenhouse gas management system and strong ambitions for decarbonization.” The basis for this outstanding rating is the construction technology group’s commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative. In this initiative companies worldwide commit to significantly reduce their carbon footprint by 2030 and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Additionally, EcoVadis recognized Hilti’s improvements in the core areas of environment and business ethics compared to the previous year's rating. Specifically, the high level of data transparency on the life cycle of Hilti products was emphasized.
The agency awards its gold rating to the top five percent of the more than 100,000 companies evaluated across all industries worldwide. "We aim to be our customers’ best partner for sustainability," says Jahangir Doongaji, CEO of the Hilti Group. “This year’s rating encourages us to further drive our ambitions. Besides our goal to become more sustainable ourselves, our differentiated product and service offering helps our customers to reach their own ambitions in this area."
EcoVadis evaluates companies against a total of 21 criteria in four primary categories: environment, labor and human rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement. The evaluation criteria are based on international sustainability standards such as the principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labor Organization, the Global Reporting Initiative standard, ISO 26000 and the principles of the Certification of Environmental Standards.
