- Hilti Opens Childcare Center in Buchs
Schaan (FL), January 8, 2025 – Hilti is making further advances towards a better work-life balance for its employees by establishing a second childcare center, this one in Buchs, Switzerland and having 29 spaces available. Between the company’s two childcare centers, in Buchs and at corporate headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein, the company can offer a total of almost 100 childcare spaces thanks to the support of the Hilti Foundation.
At the beginning of the year, childcare groups moved into their new premises at the Neuhof property in Buchs. The location is ideal due to its proximity to Hilti Befestigungstechnik AG, as many employees live in Buchs and the neighboring communities. Hilti worked with the Kinderwelt association, the architect of the Neuhof team and the office for social services in the municipality of Buchs to develop the spatial concept, which takes into account both the well-being of the children and their age-appropriate development.
“The new childcare center meets the needs of employees. The demand for support and flexibility from working parents remains high. Our childcare offering should give them the peace of mind that their children are in good hands and in an enriching environment,” said Michèle Frey-Hilti, President of the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein Board of Trustees, at the center’s inauguration festivities.
The Mayor of Buchs, Rolf Pfeiffer, was also delighted with the successful collaboration: “Family-friendly services, like this childcare center, strengthen Buchs as an attractive place to both live and work. They also promote the development of our children and alleviate a burden for working parents. They also make a significant contribution to the quality of life in our city, which was recognized by UNICEF as a ‘child-friendly city’ in summer 2024.”
The nonprofit Kinderwelt Buchs GmbH, created as part of the collaboration between the Kinderwelt Tamina association and Hilti, is responsible for the center’s operation. In addition to the organizational aspects, Kinderwelt Buchs GmbH is responsible for the center’s educational concept and daily structure.
“At Kinderwelt, we look after the youngest generation. We want to help the children to direct their curiosity towards discovering new things while developing their abilities and skills through play. Hilti is the perfect partner to make this vision a reality,” explained Edith Kohler, President of Kinderwelt Buchs.
The Hilti childcare centers in Schaan and Buchs look after children from the age of four months until they start kindergarten. Parents can select from among different models and leave their children in the care of the teams for half or full days, on one or more days of the week.
